The first, last, and only...?
Back in late 2017, Steven Welch informed me one of our favorite bands, TOOL, would be headlining the last day of the Northern Lights festival just east of Minneapolis.
Several months later, and thanks largely to a robust extraboard and a basically free round trip plane ticket, I found myself landing in Minneapolis to foam and jam.
On the last day of the trip, Mel Wilson joined us for some foaming before my flight back to Portland. ATCS indicated a train was lined across this bridge so we setup at the end of this abandoned part and waited.
We expected the red bongas (RIP Lloyd) of CP 199 when this weatherbeaten warrior came sauntering across the bridge.
I've shot plenty of red and white SOO units, specifically the SD60's while assigned to the D&H, but this was a first. I didn't know any of these still existed, so I consider us pretty lucky.
The train gods were moderately pleased that day....
