Nights in the Gurez Valley
Night fall in Achoora, a small hamlet near Dawar, Gurez Valley, comes suddenly. The evening sol dives besides the famous Habba Khatoon mountain and the Mercury drops. The Kishan Ganga flows in the month of October but haltingly as ice and snow sheath the river. The Milky Way as if affected by the winter, will also hide soon till February. The last leaves, sans Chlorophyll, that adorn the trees in a golden hue, will shed in a fortnight.
Our backs faced a not so distant hill, which had the Pakistan Occupied Kashmir army Chowki rooted on top of it. A little disconcerting as you see their moving lights patrol their region. There was one comforting thought though; a bigger Indian Army camp was stationed on an adjoining hill.
Beauty besides barbed wires can still be very enticing for a photographer, I tell you.
