The Biggie in Castlemezzano

The Biggie in Castlemezzano

It was around mid night. The eight hundred residents of Castlemezzano had gone off to sleep since long. I was on the top of an unfinished terrace of an Eagle's nest like home & felt a bit like Batman overlooking the Tungsten lamps lit, amber haloed village, closely ensconced in a coccoon of tall mountains.

It was not very cold but then I was wearing 3 layers as the wind whislted an eerie threat. I was about to stop the shoot, when it happened. My supra normal super-man eyes saw the meteorite rock hurtle & furiously revolve a couple of times, before it ignited to streak the sky in one long whoosh. This was the biggest meteor I had ever seen & I have seen quite a few. I didn't make a wish as most people do on seeing a shooting star.

Instead I just sighed in dispair as I remembered how in my school & college days, I had wasted this supra natural, superman eye-sight, standing outside the ladies washroom walls & seeing through them.

No wonder I never made it to the DC Comics.
