A view down Bridge Street, Carrick-on-Suir, Tipperary, Ireland.

At the bottom of the hill is "Old Bridge" , built around 1440, scene of a major tragedy in 1799, when boats carrying men, women and children crashed into the bridge on the night of February 9th. causing over 100 deaths, possibly the greatest loss of life in a single incident on an inland waterway.
