Greater Roadrunner

Ok there is a story here...

We've all seen puppies, kittens playing with imaginary non visible stuff to us . Rolling aroung contorting barking, or stealthily spring onto absolutely nothing. No doubt honing skills for instinctive survival.... Now here is the rest of the story, As Paul Harvey used to say.

This guy as God as my witness was hopping onto a rock, then jumping into mid air all the while flapping its wings seemingly "playing" hunting imaginary prey. Then off he would go and repeat the antics again where ever he happen to feel the urge I guess. I was LOL all the while!! I have only witnessed one other time that a bird actually a newly fledged Coopers Hawk as this guy is new to his world engaged in obvious play. The Hawk was playing with a nest mate on the ground. This guy did not have a nest mate but was content just making up stuff, just like our kittens and puppies. I can't begin to tell you how much fun it was just to set and watch all this unfold.
