Synopsis:

Once every year the world falls into complete darkness for exactly one month. During this time, shadow creatures come out and steal anyone left on the streets. For some strange reason these shadow creatures are unable to get through doors or windows so families lock their doors and windows tight before night falls and anyone left outside after six o’clock is kept outside to die. Abby Fowler is one such unlucky person. On her way home from the grocery, she forgets the time and realizes that it is precisely five minutes to six. She runs home and finds that her family has already locked all their doors and windows and is unwilling to let her come inside for fear of the shadow creatures. Abby is devastated and completely frightened and as the darkness approaches she must find a way to survive like the others who are left outside on the streets.
