Kingfisher at Tophill Low
I have wanted to photograph a Kingfisher for a long time and for whatever reason never visited this nature reserve, well known for its Kingfishers. A forecast for sunshine on the day seemed a good opportunity to finally try my luck and this is one of my first ever shots of these strikingly colourful little birds. Ignore the EXIF lens information, it was taken using a manual focus Nikkor 500mm f/4 ED IF P lens with a TC 14E II teleconverter for an effective focal length of 700mm.
