looking back eastward
Five years ago today, we were driving our car from Connecticut to Washington State. We had planned to bring it out the following spring when we moved to our new house. But we noticed a just-long-enough coast-to-coast weather window starting on December 26. Hubby needed to stay in CT for the spring semester, but we figured I could go to WA early and start unpacking (we had bought the house and shipped out most of our things in October). The trip was quick - we drove from 8:00am to 4:00pm every day, stayed in motels, and arrived at our new home around 3:00pm on December 31. A bit of snow and some high winds on the way, but also some beautiful scenes like this one - early morning in far southwestern Wyoming on I-84. Just had to stop when we saw this view in our sideview mirrors. Have a safe holiday weekend everyone!
