With time on my hands, I've been going through old photos, finding good memories and things that gave me a smile back when. This is one of my all-time favorites.
You can't really see it, but there is a shallow ditch running from left to right across this path. I used to have to jump the ditch in the spring when it was flowing. Then one day, I saw someone had made a little bridge of two-by-fours. Nice - no more muddy feet. My real smile came several months later in the fall. Taking my usual route, I saw someone had painted the wood to look like piano keys. Just looking at this photo reminds me of how amazed and delighted I felt that day.
