the last hurrah?
This shot was taken last month when the flakes were beautifully huge. Today, it's snowing tiny little flakes, with temps more than 20 degrees below our average for this date and wind gusts of 50mph. Hubby and I went for a walk - a short one since the wind really was biting. But also exhilarating. Weather like this assaults my senses and really lets me know I'm alive. How easy to take things for granted in other seasons. But winter... I think of other people - past and present - in this place, in this kind of weather, with far fewer options than I have. And I realize what a small part I play in this world and its history. (I meant to post this Thursday, but just didn't get to it - weather is warmer today, but I decided to post this anyway.)
