The Tower of Orthanc 03 - With Title
This is the first mega-build I have done. It stands at 8 feet 9 inches tall. It is approximately 1/65 scale to the book Orthanc, which stood at roughly 500 feet tall, and contains over 75,000 bricks in the tower portion alone. Another 20,000 is in the landscape. The base and surrounding area stands on three 48x48 stud plates by two 48x48 stud plates. The tower has a complete cut-away in the back that allows you to see a fully furnished interior with features including LED lighting and a staircase that connects every level and goes all the way to the top of the tower. Everything in it is LEGO and there are no non LEGO supports holding it up. Each floor is built modular and comes off for easy setup and take down. I will be showing it off for the first time at Brickworld Chicago 2015.
