d92308b. The first option is to not use the pay station at all, but rather to wait and pay when or if someone comes around collecting fees!!
This apparently applies not only to camping fees but to vehicle entry fees.
So if you get checked out by the ranger anywhere in the park and haven't paid your entry fee, you can rightly claim that you are just waiting for someone to come around and collect them from you.
This seems to be totally at odds with normal procedure; where you must pay for camping at the pay station, or in advance, and you must pay for entering the park in advance or at the first available pay station.
