This is Cooper! We got the call last Thursday night that he was in the shelter's euthanasia room. Having just lost our sweet, American Bulldog Sophie to Cancer a few short weeks ago, our hearts connected with him, even though we had no plans to get a dog in the next year or two. Arrangements were made through a rescue group to get him to the vet. The following day we made the hour and a half drive to pick him up. When they brought him into the room I was shocked and a little bit scared after seeing the size of his head... the only thing I could see with the huge cone. Then I caught a glimpse of his emaciated body and knew that I would take him to his forever home where he would never want for anything again. Now a week later, he has settled in perfectly in our family, gained a few pounds and owns our hearts. He got a great first check up at our VCA and loves his new doctor. He is our gentle giant and such a smart boy! I have wondered many times over the past few days... who really rescued who?
