VCA Pets
Pet of the Week
I have to nominate our Tiny Terror, Wesley as Pet of the Week. For the past
several years, he has been a patient at VCA, where the Vets there have saved his
life not once, but twice!
Several years ago, Wesley became suddenly ill. Our active little/big guy could
barely walk, wouldn't eat and was not himself. We took him to VCA-Mission Valley
where Dr. Fincham saw him and diagnosed AIHA, Auto Immune Hemolytic Anemia. He
was put on medication, and strict activity/food instructions and within 9 months
seemed as though he had never been ill. Last Fall, I noticed large lumps on his
lymph nodes. Back to VCA where he was diagnosed with lymphoma. With Dr. Ford's
intense care and regimen, he was in remission within 6 weeks! He still requires
chemo and daily medications, but our crazy Pembroke Welsh Corgi is back to
acting like a puppy even though he will be 11 years old this coming October. The
staff at VCA is incredible and Wesley is the only dog I have ever known or heard
of that can't wait to go to the vet to see his 'pals'!
