Pedler in the sun:

A stunning Wallis and Steevens 8 NHP general purpose agricultural engine shining brightly in the intense sun at the Ashby Steam Fair.

She was built in July 1914 and is engine no. 7248.

She has a long and colourful history - being built for export to Turkey, however was collected from the docks prior to export due to the outbreak of WW1.

She went to work in the Swindon area after 1915

After Swindon, she spent time at Edwards Gravel pits in Fairford, where she was rescued for preservation by a gentleman called Sam Love.

After he passed away, she was sold at auction and ended up at Madders Yard in Andover.

She was sold and restored at Statfold (5 minutes up the road from me)
