love this idea of adding the extra canvas for the portrait orientation. can definitely see me using this on my blog in the future.

 

no major processing other than a few tweaks in lightroom (which i just bought and oh my gosh i am so in love with already. it's everything i love about camera raw but about a bazillion times easier with the collections.

 

also i used the same noise layer on both parts of the image (add noise #1)
