Alterego

My name is Claire Violand and I am a sophomore at St. Joes. I live with my family and I have a dog named Tucker. My personality is cheerful and I always try and smile. I love hanging with my friends and whenever we do we always have a blast. I play tennis and do dance on the side.

I have always loved taking pictures and when I do I try and have a meaning behind it and have it speak words. I don’t like when people have to guess what you were trying to portray. I always have loved taking photos and I still do. It makes me feel calm. I thought photography would be easy but I guessed wrong. Sometimes it’s challenging. Not everything goes the way you planed and you might have to make adjustments and it wouldn’t have been what you wanted. I love photography and it lets me show who I am.

My self portrait tells a lot about myself. I took it lying in the grass because I feel that is the place I feel most calm and content. I love being outside in the sun and smiling. I put the camera on a birdbath at an angle so I could lie in the grass. It was a challenge but practice makes perfect. I am showing me who is a down to earth girl and quite. I got to show my true self.

In my alter ego picture I am portraying someone that I wish I was. I have always wanted to play softball but I was never that good and too small. I wanted to take it outside because you play softball outside and I live in Westlake and wanted to play with them. I love playing sports but I guess I was never that good at that sport. I put my camera on a table outside and put it on self timer. It was fun to have a jersey on and pretend to be a real player.
