What Kind of Medical Soldier?

Photographer: ?

Date: ? probably during WW I (for Romania:1916-1919) or the the Balkanic War 1912-1913

Location: Romania

The portrayed: ? red cross on the collar suggests a member of the medical military corps. If it is a doctor, a sanitary, a medical assistant or stretcher-bearer, I don't know. The uniform seems Romanian.

An uniformologist would be needed, to bring some light in the matter. (according to the flickr member ionionescu it is a doctor in a 1916 uniform of second lieutenant).
