Narrow bodied class 203 DEMU 1036 "Hastings Unit" is seen in the station yard at Hastings, this area is now the site of the Sussex Coast College.
After 29 years exclusively working the Hastings service the end for these narrow bodied units is nearly here, which was the reason for our visit, the last day was on the 11th May 1986, 1036 did not make that final day being withdrawn from service just over a week after our visit on the 27th April 1986.
