Two ownership inscriptions: Friedrich August von Knobelsdorff; Matthäus Merian

Upper inscription: Frid. Aug. de Knobelsdorff

Fridericus Augustus de Knobelsdorff or Friedrich August de Knobelsdorff

Lower inscription: Ao. 1679 [illegible words] Matthaus Merian[?]

[This could be either Matthäus Merian the Younger (1621-1687), a Swiss painter or his father, Matthäus Merian der Ältere (or "Matthew", "the Elder", 1593 - 1650), a Swiss-born engraver who worked in Frankfurt for most of his career, where he also ran a publishing house. It would probably help if we could read the whole inscription, because I think there is another name in the first line.]

Title enclosed within elaborate woodcut border made up of four panels: Emperor and Pope standing to the left and right of the title: upper panel with Christ, surrounded by the electors on one side, and depiction of baptism and Last Supper on the other; bottom panel with large coat-of-arms of the Pfalzgraf bei Rhein.

Established heading: Otto Heinrich,‏ ‎‡c Elector of the Palatinate,‏ ‎‡d 1502-1559‏
