Ti -- atomic #22
# 110 -- Periodic Elements -- 118 Pictures in 2018
Titanium is a lustrous transition metal with a silver color, low density, and high strength. Its two most useful properties are corrosion resistance and strength-to-density ratio, the highest of any metallic element. It can be alloyed with other elements to produce strong, lightweight alloys for many purposes, including orthopedic implants, as seen here, in an x-ray taken today to check on the healing of my ankle. (The surgeon says it looks good.)
