Nothing like a total eclipse to inspire one to think about the sun. And what could be more essential, after all? We went to Teton National Park, in Wyoming, for a view of totality.

I believe the speck of light at about 7:30 from the sun is the star Regulus. At a pre-eclipse lecture, given by a Colorado College professor, we were alerted to the possibility that Regulus might be visible in this position. He also said that the corona is about 2,000,000 degrees hotter than the sun's surface, a fact which I'd been unaware of---
