Here's a neon cuckoo bee (Thyreus nitidulus) visiting the perennial basil in our Brisbane garden.
The female of this species lays eggs in the nest of female Amegillas (blue-banded bees) and its larvae eat the food the Amegilla had provided for its own larvae.
