The bark chewers
This pair of galahs at Dru Point, Margate, Tasmania, are chewing the bark on this eucalypt. Apparently this is usually engaged in by paired birds, taking place most often near the present or proposed nest-hollow, and is often accompanied by wing-flexing and head-bobbing.
It is also food-related, as Galahs and other cockatoos seek the cambium sap under the bark.
