The roosters
Male Blue-banded Bees (Amegilla species) roosting at night on a small twig in our Brisbane garden. They hang by their jaws for the entire night.
It is obviously getting to be a peak time in our yard for these bees, as two weeks before I took this shot there were only 10 on the twig. Here there are 21 on the twig and another about to join them.
