Landing gear out
Happiness is seeing our newly emerged male Blue-banded Bees (Amegilla Zonamegilla cingulata) coming in to land in the same roosting site as the previous generations in our back yard.
The previous generation died off at the end of June when it started to get colder in our winter, and we didn't see any new ones until mid-October. It took about three weeks for the new males to start coming to the old roosting site. At the moment we only have four of them, but hopefully we should see lots more over the coming weeks. Last season we had up to 23 males roosting on the same twig at night.
