Jeff was hit with a baseball bat as a child making it hard to breath through his nose. Join Jeff as he undergoes a nose job procedure to repair his breathing. Dr. Nassif also performed a platysmaplasty surgery and a chin implant. Rhinoplasty is a nose-reshaping surgery that can correct deformities or make subtle aesthetic changes for cosmetic purposes. This video explains the procedure and the various rhinoplasty techniques. Dr. Nassif also performed platysmaplasty surgery, Dr. Nassif makes an incision under the chin to reach the neck muscle (platysma). He then manipulates these muscles (which can include repositioning or partial removal). Normally, platysmaplasty takes 2-3 hours, but in cases where the surgery is performed in conjunction with liposuction or a face-lift, the time may be longer. Neck lift surgery can take a few weeks to heal completely.
Swelling, bruising, skin tightening, pain, and tingling sensations are quite normal after platysmaplasty and are not necessarily cause for concern. Normally patients can return to work after 10-14 days, and resume exercises and normal activites after three weeks. A post-operative consultation with Dr. Nassif is also scheduled around this time. Chin augmentation is a common procedure performed to improve the balance of your facial profile and correct a "weak" chin or receding chin due to congenital deficiency, age-related bone resorption or facial trauma. A weak chin can make the nose seem larger or make the neck appear fatty and undefined. Chin augmentation with an implant is the procedure of choice for most patients with normally functioning teeth and jaw development. A chin implant gives more projection of the chin and a better shape.
