Trefoil Knot
This is a three-dimensional model of a trefoil knot, whose path is defined by a parametric equation: f(x,y,z) = 0. A vast number of points (N,x,y,z) were calculated in an Excel VBA macro, and imported to a CATIA (Version 5) 3D computer model. This produced a very smooth (closed) space curve. A varying section, pipe-type surface was then constructed along the curve using a sinusoidal law.
