An autumnal day in the Lakes . . . Explore 17-12-2021 #10

Previously we have visited the Lake District in the spring or summer, but this year with the large number of staycationers packing the Lakes we opted for a late October holiday instead.

We met up with Terry Roberts for a relatively damp day exploring the Lakes. With the intermittent showers we headed for the Borrowdale Mill where we would have some shelter from the rain under the canopy of leaves.

As the path to the mill, actually leads to the mill and we failed to bring wellies, we entertained ourselves trying to find a relatively 'safe' route across the burn balancing on wet and sometimes moss-covered rocks. After a successful crossing we proceeded to set up our gear and enjoy the moment.

Days after our visit, this area was hit with torrential rains and flooding . . . I'm hoping the mill survived with minimal damage.
