On the rocks . . . Explore 04-04-2020 #72

A description that is appropriate for the image and, if I'm not careful, myself. A fabulous afternoon and evening exploring the photo opportunities along the coastline of Skye at Elgol. Maneuvering across the wet and occasionally mossy rocks to this location required balance, lightening reflexes and grace. The last time I had lightening reflexes was years ago and grace has never been a term used by others to describe how I move, the only possible reason I didn't end up on my backside is luck.

Besides dealing with the rocks underfoot, there was also the advancing tide to deal with. After setting up and taking a few images I soon discovered the waves washing over my boots . . . . time to grab the kit and retreat and reposition . . . shoot and repeat. All in all a memorable time at Elgol . . . I got the images I wanted, I stayed upright and the only things that ended up in the water were my boots.

In the distance are the snow capped Cuillins. The lone figure enjoying the view provides a sense of scale to the scene.

I was fortunate to have been able to join some friends for a winter getaway on the Isle of Skye. This was the last location we visited . . . what a way to end the holiday!
