Day 20 - Brake caliper refurb
It turns out I can just replace the single dodgy piston, it's just that BMW don't sell pistons as separate items, but I'm not going to BMW for my parts in this instance because they wanted £268 just for the seals, sleaves and nipples!!! BiggRed saved the day at ~£75 including the new piston
All parts masked up. piston bores covered and as few threads exposed as possible.
I cleaned the old hoses and bleed nipples and used them to plug the hydraulic connections so that there is paint right up to the start of the threads.
The threads on the carriers will get a quick run through with a tap and some copper grease before they go into storage once the rebuild is complete
