“HOPE STREET FARMERS MARKET, 2003” – BONNIE SCHULTZ PLATZER
Providence, RI weaver Bonnie Schultz Platzer was inspired by the handmade textiles of West Africa to take classes in spinning, dyeing and weaving. Using Gobelin weaving techniques, her tapestries – which take six months to a year to create – bring to life specific people from the places where she has lived and traveled. This tapestry is of a little girl at the Hope Street Farmers Market.
