Cavalry Cup competition
Covering the Cavalry Cup, a competition for U.S. Army scouts June 15-23, 1990, in Wildflecken, W. Germany, was one of my most interesting experiences as a journalist. I spent three days in the boonies, surviving only on cookies, and surrounded by soldiers. I saw only two other women the entire time, and I was the only civilian not in uniform. This photo, and others I took at the competition, were not only used in the Training Times, but also on the cover and inside EurArmy, the magazine for the U.S. Army in Europe.
