Explosive

My wife and I recently returned from a two week road trip through the Southwest. One of our last stops was the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, where we camped and explored.

All day long, the winds were blowing really hard, and I thought we would just be having a relaxing evening by the campfire. Around 4pm, I noticed that clouds were blowing in and that we could have a really nice sunset, so we did the easy thing, and just did a quick drive over to the very crowded Mather Point overlook.

This photo was taken looking at about a 100 degree angle away from the setting sun. I can't remember the last time I had clouds burning this intensely when looking away from the sun, but it was perfect because it lined up right over a scenic part of the canyon. More photos from other National Parks to come over the next days and weeks. Hope everyone is well!
