Tivoli Hum Solution
Both the Tivoli Model One and the Model Two - the latter pictured here - hum when turned off. (Presumably they always hum but it only becomes noticeable when turned off.) This is a bizarre engineering failure given that this diminutive system sounds incredibly good for its size and affordability.
Pulling out the flex when switched off quickly becomes a pain as you generally have to fumble around the back only to have to get up from your seat and crouch down for a clear view when plugging the cord back in. This cheap lamp switch doesn't look too bad and works.
The other solution is to use an external 12V DC power supply. A good one won't hum and you you'll not have to switch your device on and off twice - lamp switch as well as knob on the facia of the Tivoli.
