Very much an acquired taste Parma Violets are a British violet-flavoured tablet confectionery manufactured by the Derbyshire company Swizzels Matlow. The sweets are hard, biconcave disc-shaped sweets with a diameter of roughly 1 cm (0.39 in) and a height of roughly 4 mm (0.16 in). Each one similar in size to US Smarties.
