227/365 Petrichor

Petrichor is the earthy scent produced when rain falls on dry soil. The word is constructed from Greek πέτρα petra, meaning "stone", and ἰχώρ īchōr, the fluid that flows in the veins of the gods in Greek mythology.

Last evening we had crazy weather, thunder, lightning, very heavy rain and hail. Early this morning we had a little bit of gentle rain.

How I am enjoying the smell of the rain this morning, as well as the raindrops covering everything. Every drop is precious and welcome in New Mexico.
