John B. Robert was the trusted AMAFCA (Albuquerque Metropolitan Arroyo* and Flood Control Authority) Engineer who designed the dam and ponding area to control a 100 year flood. That was in the early 1990’s, and ever since then The Arroyo has been a unique piece of land remaining largely in its natural state, right in the heart of Albuquerque. Used for leisurely walks, bike rides and encounter wildlife amidst an otherwise crowded residential area.
If you are a Breaking Bad fan you'll recognise this as the pickup point for both Jesse and later for Walt where they both waited to be taken to a safe place.
