The tack of the sail is on a track so that it can be hauled to windward while the clew is sheeted to the lee side. This picture actually shows that arrangement reversed because of the wind direction in my yard that day but shows the shape the sail takes with wind in it. I tried the recut sail on the water one light wind day and it shows enough promise that I will make a larger 135sf sail for the next trial. This one after recutting was 100sf.
