BN-1 and 2 IRM_0166 7-31-17
7/31/17: Ah the 90's! When you could still catch stuff like this outside a museum (not to denigrate museums mind you I love IRM!). For that brief shining moment before one of the mergers from hell. BN had the presumption to bring back vintage F and E units for executive service... beats the hell out of any Heritage GEs, but what do I know!... Love the chrome BN on the front! Then BNSF came along with everything become a GE or GEVO and ugly ass orange puked onto everything. Haven't caught an SD70MAC Exec in ages!
I hate/Love BNSF...Still a very cool efficient modern railroad and as much as I hate to admit it a few 4400HP monsters accelerating a giant stackTrain on he raceTrack or Chlli Sub is an impressive sight. But there is very little hope of seeing standard cabs on the mainline these days and I like variety. But I know the Industry is about Profits not variety for some dumbAss train watcher! Money (I know) rules the world, but at what cost to our humanity and Souls?
