Esta linea de telegrafo optico comenzo a funcionar el 2 de octubre de 1846 y estuvo en funcionamiento hasta que la sustituyo la linea de telegrafo electrico en 1855. En el fondo se puede ver el desfiladero de Pancorbo, en cuya parte mas alta, en la fortaleza de Santa Engracia, se situaba la estacion anterior de esta línea de telegrafo optico. Campos de cereal y girasoles.
