M86K UPT

Model 86K, Uzman Piyade Tüfeği, translating as Specialist Infantry Rifle, is a subcompact carbine based off from the M86 mGAPT and T56K KPT. Aside from the more compact size and barrel, not much is changed, but a different gas block (which is also the sight) is added. It uses 5.45x39mm rounds and has much greater range than the T56-series, and uses standard 74-series magazines. It is an amalgam of various designs, such as: G3, AK-74, and various other Western designs. Its apperance is quite similar to that of an AK, but it is by no means one. It is also notable that the system hasn't undergone major changes overall.

It uses a long-stroke piston system, and has a porthole in gas tube, and from that hole the piston is visible. Attached to it, is a charging handle. This was done, due to the piston rifles getting easily hot. With this, such a problem was easily solved.

It has a button and a large lever for magazine release, both of them making it easy for the user to work it around. It makes usage of peep sights and the rear one is adjustable for ranges between 100-600 meters. The gas block comes with guttersnipe sights as well, but these work for closer ranges, and for this purpose normal iron sights are still usable.

Its receiver is milled, and thanks to the usage of much better quality alloys, is stronger than ever. Same can be said for barrel assembly. The UPt has a special gas block, which burns more gas before the bullet leaves the barrel, and solves the issue of overgassing, which in turn results with lower recoil. The gas block is called ''meat shredder'', which has three ''spikes'' on it, for door breaching, or simply for mêlée, although the latter is not suggested.

The stock is a folding one and is noticably strong and tight-fitting, yet easy to operate. One can fold the stock to any position, to left or right, without any consequences, thanks to the completely ambidextrous thumb safety.

It comes with three series of rails, with the ability to quickly mount optics, LAMs, flashlights and various attachments.

It is a surprisingly light rifle, even though strong material were used. All the furniture was replaced with polymers, with that adding to the light weight.

Overall, these rifles are known to be of incredible quality, and is well-known to be so by soldiers of not only Turkey, but various nations. The rifle itself is greatly seeked by many, although due to the ''Door Ajar'' policy of the Turkish, not many get to see these, let alone acquire. As such, these rifles are greatly valued.
