ICI Northwich, Lostock PS, Richardsons Westgarth 6.25MW Turbogenerators
First time I've ever seen an original photo from this turbine hall, found inside one of my recently picked up brochures, this one being 'Richardson Westgarth Steam Turbines for Industrial Plants'.
Unfortunately a lot of my pictures from my visit here became corrupted but I have manged to save one or two, maybe I can see a report coming along now...
There seems to be little in the way of history available for this plant, as mentioned the pictures in the booklet are the only ones I've seen from within the station as it was originally built. I know the station was built as an oil fired one, being converted to coal strangely in 1985 adding additions such as bunkers and pulverising mills. The mills certainly aren't what I was expecting to see in a station of it's age have visited Wilton, Markinich, Ardeer and Uskmouth previously I think something a little better was expected from around this era! Still a lovely pair of Turbines and really I don't suppose you can ask for much more really given the fact all this stuff is on it's way out now sadly.
