Neue Synagogue (Mainz) (explored)

The New Synagogue is located on Synagogenplatz, Mainz. The Modernist-styled building was erected in 2010 on the site of the former main synagogue, which was destroyed in 1938. Designed by Manuel Herz, it was nominated for the Mies van der Rohe Prize for European Architecture and the German Facade Prize 2011.
