Zenit C and Zenit 3
By 1960 the KMZ in Russia had developed the first of their SLR designs the “C” into the Zenit 3, it now had lever film advance and on the “3” the shutter speed could be set prior to advancing the film with out causing mechanical problems. The camera was very well made and must be considered to be one of the best constructed of the whole Soviet range of cameras. It was to be in production for only two years, Russia's interest was on quotas and export sales, the Zenit 3 was withdrawn because of its high production cost and is rare today.
