“Creature from the Black Lagoon” (Universal Pictures, 1954). Ben Chapman as the Gill-man abducting Kay Lawrence played by Julie Adams.
In this classic Universal horror film a group of scientists encounter an amphibious humanoid creature in the waters of the Amazon. In their attempt to capture the creature, members of the expedition are killed or injured, and Kay is abducted and taken to the creature’s lair. The creature, also known as the gill-man, was played by Ben Chapman on land and by Ricou Browning underwater. Although the movie was filmed in three dimensions (3D), many audiences actually saw it flat, in two dimensions (2D). Typically, the film was shown in 3D in large downtown theaters and flat in smaller neighborhood theaters. [Source: Wikipedia]
