“Norman Rockwell Album” in this issue of “The Saturday Evening Post,” March 12, 1955.
Here, in answer to thousands of requests, nineteen of Rockwell's best covers and illustrations were selected from the three hundred and twenty-two that had appeared in the Post and were reprinted in a twelve-page album insert. The nine illustrations on the cover of the magazine were an added bonus. It was a wonderful vintage view of Norman Rockwell's career and a recognition of a new honor that had been bestowed on him; for in the summer of '55, beginning on June 10th and continuing until the end of August, a one-man show of his finest originals were scheduled to be displayed in the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C.
