Tenth book in the Fantasy Book Series

After a long run as a science fiction writer, L. Ron Hubbard founded the Church of Scientology in 1953.

From the back cover:

TYPEWRITER IN THE SKY and FEAR, reputed to be two of the finest examples of modern science fiction, are together here in one volume! Coming from the pen of that top-flight American author, L. Ron Hubbard, the reader is assured of first-class writing and ingenious and original plots.

TYPEWRITER IN THE SKY is a story within a story. Not only is the reader taken back to the swashbuckling, pirate days of the Spanish Main, but he soon becomes aware that the leading character of the young handsome sea captain is, in reality, the friend of an author, who deliberately traps him within the colourful pages of his romantic drama, which he is writing desperately against time. The sea captain becomes the puppet of the clicking keys of the typewriter, dancing helplessly to its rhythm and dictation. Soon recognizing his dilemma, however, he struggles valiantly to avoid the fate he feels has been planned for him by the author.

In FEAR, a man loses four hours of his life. He knows that if he does not discover what has happened, he will go mad; if he does, he will die. This brilliant short novel should not be read alone at midnight!
