Australian Sentinel DV 6/4 tractor unit.
These absolutely unique and previously unseen photos are of an export model Sentinel DV 6/4 lorry. They were sent to me recently by a kind Sentinel enthusiast, Tim Ellis from Australia,
No official records exist of how many diesel Sentinels were exported to Australia but there weren’t many.
We are sure that none exist in Australia now but, Tim is on the lookout.
This must be the only DV converted to a tractor unit and is clearly up to the job. Imagine negotiating this monster around our towns and villages!
The tyres look huge and must be 11.00 x 20 at least!
I would think that these photos were taken in the late fifties, early sixties.
This is a six cylinder, four wheeler model of which there are no completed examples left today.
Tim has allowed me to share these photos with you all so thanks to Tim for the privilege.
