Pearl Beer - Moulton, Texas
This old porcelain Pearl sign that stood on a downtown street corner for years is gone now. Not sure exactly what happened to it. If my memory is correct Pearl Beer had pretty much run its course when this photo was taken. It was originally brewed in San Antonio starting in 1886. Pabst took them over in 1985 and I thought Pearl was finished. I believe Miller Brewing took over brewing a limited amount of the beer in the 1980s or 1990s. It certainly didn't have the market share it once had. So I wasn't surprised when the sign was removed. However, I just learned last night that Pearl lives on. In May of 2020 it was reintroduced to the Texas beer drinking public. Moulton, Texas. 9.1.2012.
